Republican presidential candidates and the American public have been taking notice of president Obama’s handling of the most important issues and threats facing Americans today.
In an op-ed piece on Fox News, Huckabee lashed out at Obama for his skewed sense of priorities in relation to terrorism and climate change. “America needs a commander-in-chief, not a weather-obsessed meteorologist-in-chief,” Huckabee wrote.
In light of the recent terrorist attacks in Paris, Obama has downplayed the threat of ISIS and global terrorism while at the same time expressing dire concern for climate change. In his article, Huckabee makes it clear what the federal government can and can’t do as well as what the federal government should be doing.
“The federal government cannot control the weather. Period. We can control borders, military assets, critical airspace, and American intelligence. We can also kill Islamic terrorists and radical ISIS murderers. America needs a president focused on what we can control, not fixated on weather patterns which we cannot,” Huckabee wrote.
A day before the Paris attacks, Obama had declared to the world that ISIS has been contained. Since the attacks, leading Democrats have had the audacity to suggest that climate change is a one of the causes of terrorism.
“ISIS keeps swelling in size and power and Obama still has no strategy. In the Syrian city of Raqqa, which serves as the ISIS capital, Islamic radicals have established a treasury department with an elaborate system of taxes, public services and real estate rental agreements. Between oil production, smuggling, antiquity dealing and kidnapping, ISIS is building a comprehensive infrastructure. What will it take for Obama to wake-up to this menace?”
Huckabee then answered his own question: “Maybe he would take ISIS seriously if he discovered they didn’t recycle.”
Do you agree with Huckabee’s strong statements?
