A houseguest of Stephen Paddock is now opening up about the disturbing thing Paddock once said to him during a visit to his home. Since the attack in Las Vegas, things are now starting to make sense a bit more.
Adam Le Fevre was once in a relationship with the sister of Paddock’s girlfriend. He toured Paddocks house once and it was during that touring that Paddock revealed something.
“As we walked through that small area, Steve said, ‘Bedroom … sitting room … and gun room …’ Aah, gunroom?” Le Fevre told Australian news program “A Current Affair,” news.com.au reported.
“And he said, ‘Well, most people in the US have firearms and they need to be protected, and of course you don’t want firearms falling into the hands of the wrong people,’” he said.
Le Fevre says that in looking back at this visit, in the days since the Vegas shooting, it is a bit more clear exactly how sarcastic Paddock possibly was. He says that at the time, he thought Paddock was just a gun enthusiast.
“It never occurred to me that he was planning violence against anyone,” he said. He also commented that he realized guns were an important part of his life, but nothing deadly for innocent people.
Le Favre said Paddock also became very defensive when he was asked about the 2nd Amendment. He realized Paddock was clearly a massive gun supporter.
“He was very strict and very firm on the fact that it’s a right. It’s the freedom of every American to participate, to own a gun and use it … when need be. I was shocked. There was no compassion in regard to my question.”
