“Avengers” actress Scarlett Johansson seems to have a personal vendetta against Ivanka Trump.
After mockingly mimicking Ivanka in an “Saturday Night Live” skit, Scarlett launched into a tirade against the president’s daughter for not being a radical feminist like her.
Speaking during a couple interviews this week, according to The Hill, the actress called Ivanka a coward for not being arrogant and asserting herself in her role as Trump’s unpaid assistant.
It’s an odd accusation considering how many of Scarlett’s fellow liberals have decried Ivanka having any role in her dad’s administration.
"I've been thinking a lot about Ivanka Trump actually very recently," Scarlett said. “[She] said something which I found particularly disappointing, which is that she felt the greatest change that she was going to … make actually would be behind closed doors — nobody would actually know that she had made this change."
“I thought to myself, well that’s empowering,” Scarlett said sarcastically. “I mean, how old-fashioned, this idea that behind a great man is a great woman. What about being in front of that person? Or next to them? Or standing on your own?”
She continued, “It’s such an old-fashioned concept that to be this powerful woman, you know, you can’t appear to be concerned with what you’re going to feel, that somebody’s going to think that you’re b----y.”
“Screw that,” she concluded. “It’s so old-fashioned, it’s so uninspired, and actually, I think, really cowardly. And I was just so disappointed by that interview she gave yesterday.”
Why do you think Scarlett is going after Ivanka so much? Is it her roundabout way at attacking President Trump, who she called a unpredictable megalomaniac who cares nothing for women’s rights during her speech at the post-Inauguration “Women’s March on Washington?” Or does she have another reason for his personal vendetta?
