Jimmie Walker, stand up comedian and former “Good Times” actor, recently revealed his support for President Donald Trump. Although Walker does not agree with everything Trump does, he’s not against him and understands he makes mistakes.
In a predominantly left-wing field, this comedian was unashamed of discussing his political beliefs. During an interview with Fox News, Walker mentioned that “comedy is a left-wing affair” and his beliefs differ drastically from most others in the Hollywood scene.
Walked stated, “There's not one positive Trump joke out here. No President has been attacked in recent years — because you couldn't attack Obama because he was black.”
He continued, “But Trump, they have come out guns blazing against him, but even though I don't like everything he does, why, heck, darn it, I think he deserves some sort of praise… but you can't say that in Hollywood."
Walker’s not wrong. Since Trump’s inauguration, other comedians and those in Hollywood have spoken out against Trump continuously. Comedians Rosie O’Donnell and Kathy Griffin have a made a name for themselves in blasting the president on a regular basis.
Additionally, following Trump’s recent transgender military ban, most Hollywood members spoke out against the president including conservative transgender Caitlyn Jenner (formerly known as Bruce Jenner) and singing teen heartthrob Aaron Carter. Very few spoke out in support of his bold decision.
In addition to Jimmie Walker, a rising singer has regularly expressed her support of President Trump. She even defended his decision on the transgender military ban.
