On Friday, February 9, the 2018 Winter Olympic Games will officially kick off. While some competitions actually begin on Thursday, the Opening Ceremonies will take place on Friday night.
The last several days, Team USA has been arriving in Pyeongchang, South Korea, to prepare for the Games. According to Fox News, team USA includes 242 athletes, with 135 men and 107 women.
While all of the Olympic athletes are deserving of honor, there are 7 athletes that represent our country in another significant way. On the 2018 team, there are 7 soldier-athletes competing.
Two of the athletes, Sgt. Justin Olsen and Cpt. Chris Fogt, are returning Olympic medalists. According to Fox, all but one of the athletes is involved with the U.S. Army Installation Management Command's World Class Athlete Program.
