Thank God for true, strong pastors in the Body of Christ. Lord knows we need them right now! With so much false teaching and secularism going on inside and outside of the Church, we need people who stick straight to the Bible--nothing else. As reported earlier, a pastor has recently written a book, "Good Christian Sex," telling unmarried Christians that it is OK to have sex outside of marriage. It just must be "mutually pleasurable and affirming," says Rev. Bromleigh McCleneghan.
But is it really OK? "No!" says Pastor Greg Laurie. When asked by the Christian Post at a recent Harvest outreach, Laurie strongly spoke against McCleneghan and other non-biblical teaching. "Yes, this is a problem because they are misrepresenting God," Laurie said. "So, someone might believe something like that, or another idea that says they can do whatever they want regardless of what Scripture teaches and this now becomes something that can push people away from God or keep them from understanding what a real Christian really is."
Not only is it harmful, it is a mark of apostasy and the End Times, says Laurie. Referring to McCleneghan's belief that the Bible is not completely authoritative, Laurie said: "Actually, that too is a sign of the [End] Times because the Bible says that in the last days, there would be false teachers," Laurie explained. "And, it also says that in the End Times, ... there would be an apostasy. When someone gets up and says that the Bible is not the Word of God, I really don't care what their point is. That, to me, is apostasy."
"When someone says that the Bible is not the Word of God and that we can make things up as we go, pick and choose what parts of the Bible we want to believe, that to me is apostasy," he stated again.
We love that Laurie is speaking out against false teaching! If no one does, many will just go along with whatever is being said that they want to hear! Do you agree with Laurie? Let us hear your thoughts in the Comments!
