Fans and celebrities are mourning the death of a young American rapper known as Fredo Santana. Santana, whose birth name is Derrick Coleman, was only 27 years old at the time of his sudden death.
Santana worked with several top music artists including Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Young Scooter.
According to TMZ, the music artist died Friday evening of a seizure. His girlfriend came home late that evening and found his body.
Previously, Santana opened up about his addiction to lean—a “purple drink” that consists of prescription-strength cough syrup. If abused, it is considered a recreational drug and is known to cause seizures.
He was recently hospitalized for liver and kidney issues as a result of his drug addiction, stated Page Six. It is unclear if he was using or clean when he died.
The rapper was also a father and leaves behind an 8-month-old son.
