On Wednesday, a lone shooter who often posted anti-Trump sentiments on his Facebook opened fire on a group of Republicans practicing for an upcoming congressional baseball game. Obviously, the shooter is to blame, but many are saying that there is a much larger issue at play.
Here, on his Facebook, Franklin Graham points to the incredible political animosity and vitriol as part of the reason for the shooting.
Like many others, Graham pointed to the multiple shows of violence towards President Trump by the entertainment industry, encouraged by the Left. "Think about it. Plays and music videos said to be depicting the assassination of the president, a comedian holding up the decapitated likeness of the head of the president. Relentless, hate-filled rhetoric," said Graham.
Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Ill., blamed the hateful atmosphere in Washington: “Political rhetoric has led to this violent type of activity that has got to stop in this country,” said Davis to Fox. He urged his fellow politicians to make a change. “I stand here today and say stop, we have to stop."
