Famous Christian evangelist Billy Graham is celebrating his 99th birthday on Tuesday, November 7th. Dedicating his life to serving Jesus Christ, Billy’s 99 years have touched the lives of millions of people across the globe.
Despite battling Parkinson's disease for more than a decade, the legendary evangelist still continues to serve God and even make rare public appearances from time to time. His son, Franklin Graham, has followed closely in his father’s footsteps, preaching the Gospel to many around the world.
On Billy’s birthday, Franklin sent his dad birthday wishes and also gave a health update regarding his father. He stated, “[My father is] entering his 100th year—what an amazing journey.”
According to USA Today, Franklin told the public, "As a family, we are just so very grateful that he is still with us. His mind is good but he’s quieter these days. He can’t see or hear well, but his health is stable."
Graham’s 99th birthday will reportedly be spent with family, eating his favorite cake—lemon cake with lard icing.
Franklin Graham also shared a video on his Facebook page, in which he makes a personal statement about his dad. The video also includes other Christian leaders, such as Rick Warren and Larry King, speaking on Billy Graham’s legacy, and memorable statements from Billy Graham himself.
