"Our country is not only blatantly defying God’s laws, but is trying to remove them completely from public view," said Franklin Graham in response to the Oklahoma Supreme Court's ruling to remove the six foot tall 10 Commandments monument from the state's capitol.
Several religious groups have balked at the monument's Judeo-Christian bias and requested their own monuments to be displayed. One such group wants to erect a 7-foot-tall statue that depicts Satan as Baphomet, a goat-headed figure with horns, wings and a long beard, as Fox News reports.
Oklahoma's Supreme Court ruled that though the monument does not defy the U.S. Constitution, it defies the state's.
Graham is deeply troubled by this latest ruling--just more evidence that this nation is pushing God further from her collective heart.
"When I went to school, the Ten Commandments were posted in the classroom, and the teacher led us in the Lord’s Prayer before we went to lunch. There was respect throughout society for the Word of God. How times have changed! Everything related to God and His Word is coming under fire in our nation," Newsmax reports of Graham.
What do you think? Is our nation becoming more and more hostile to Christianity? How do you feel about the removal of the 10 Commandments monument in Oklahoma? Would love to hear your thoughts! Thank you!
