The COVID-19 pandemic continues, as shown by the recent outbreaks in the morning show crowd. Robin RobertsOf Good Morning AmericaShe is the latest to be confirmed positive for the virus. As a result, she will be out from the studio for several days while she recovers and becomes fully non-contagious. She’s not the first anchor on the popular morning show to catch the virus, either.
Robin Roberts Out At ‘GMA’ Over COVID-19
Robin Roberts took to Twitter Thursday night to share some disappointing news with her fans. She was able to return to her normal life after a breakthrough COVID-19 case. Good Morning Americafor the better part the week. She assured her followers that her symptoms were not severe and that she was looking forward for the opportunity to return to work in the near future.
“Appreciate the concern about my absence this week on @GMA. Unfortunately, I was positive for Covid. Grateful my symptoms have been mild and that I’m doing well. Looking forward to returning as soon as I can,” the tweet read. She’s not the only GMAShe was the first host to contract the virus. Michael Strahan, her co-host, was also positive and had to miss several shows due to the virus.
Storied History Together
Before she came down with the virus, Strahan sang his co-host’s praises, even saying she “saved” his life when he first made the jump from Live! Live!The morning program is more news-based. In an interview with Candace Parker’s Moments podcast, Strahan explained, “I remember being at the Oscars on the red carpet and I was doing LiveKelly was there at the time. I had never done an Oscar red carpet.”
He spotted Roberts on the red carpet, just as his insecurity threatened to take over. He continued, “I see her and walk over and give her a hug. I tell her, ‘I’m scared to death. I’m scared.’” She reassured him and he was able to perform with his usual flawless charm despite his case of nerves.
