One of the largest automotive manufacturers in the world has just announced a major recall. Ford is recalling 37,000 SUV’s due to a discovery of a steering defect.
According to the announcement, the steering gear dust cover may become blocked after continuous low-speed driving in dusty conditions, which could lead to contaminants getting into the steering gear unit if the dust cover becomes damaged, the company said.
A plan has been filed "to recall Explorer Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) manufactured between November 2012 and June 2016 with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine,” read one report.
If you think you might have one of the affected vehicles, Ford will automatically check the dust covers on affected vehicles and replace faulty parts. See your local Ford dealer for more information about a check for your vehicle.
