The mainstream media's liberal bias is obvious, but sometimes it really reaches out and slugs you in the face. That's what happened today when what could have been an interesting read on Forbes of the 400 wealthiest people in America instead became a ludicrous attack on Donald Trump.
After gloating at how much Trump has fallen financially due to a tough real estate market, Forbes pokes fun at how many of the people at the top of the wealth list are not supporting him. Then, to top it all off, Forbes posted an infographic of the 14 immigrants who are wealthier than Trump as a snide retort to his "anti-immigrant rhetoric," even though Trump has only expressed opposition to illegal immigration and refugees that aren't vetted enough and is himself the husband of an immigrant.
By the way, Bill Gates is still the wealthiest man with an estimated $81 billion, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is second, Warren Buffet is third, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is fourth, Oracle chairman Larry Ellison is fifth, Michael Bloomberg is sixth, conservative businessmen Charles and David Kock are seventh and eighth, and Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin are ninth and tenth. But the Forbes story really isn't about them.
This bias is telling from a magazine that was originally controlled by conservative businessman and politician Steve Forbes but was then purchased in 2014 by Integrated Whale Media Investments, which is led by a Chinese firm. Trump has promised to be tough on China and not let them walk all over America, so he's probably not their favorite guy on the list.
