Fists Fly In Frightening Incident On Los Angeles-Bound Flight
To say tensions on airline flights are rapidly rising is an understatement. But the on-plane battles are not just between flight crews and travelers but between the passengers themselves.
A nearby passenger captured the incident on video after an American man in a red Hawaiian shirt got into a fist fight with another passenger on a Los Angeles-bound plane preparing to take off from Tokyo, according to CNN.
The passenger taking the footage, Corey Hour of Phoenix, says, "No one provoked him — he was cool up until a few minutes before he started hitting the guy. He started verbally abusing and intimidating people. Nothing triggered him, it just happened."
The video shows a traveler under attack landing several blows himself as a flight attendant tries to separate the two men.
After the man in the Hawaiian shirt stormed off, he was then seen returning to the cabin and attacking the same man again. That’s when Hour says he took action.
“That's when I stopped filming and confronted him,” Hour explained. "I was the one who stepped in. He backed down, I squared up with him and he wouldn't confront me."
The attacker was then arrested after allegedly assaulting two airline employees. It’s suspected that he was drunk.
The airline involved is All Nippon Airways, a Tokyo-based company.
