The fashion world is mourning the loss of an iconic designer who recently passed away. News of his death broke on Friday and was soon confirmed via social media.
Herve L. Leroux, best known as the creator of the bandage dress, has passed away. His work was renowned around the globe and even worn by Cindy Crawford and Kim Kardashian West.
Celebrities around the globe reached out to social media to share their condolences at the loss of Mr. Leroux. Many remembered him for his amazing work in the fashion industry and for also being a wonderful human being.
"Remembering the man who created the bandage dress, which held you in all the right places. Rip #HerveLeger" Cindy Crawford wrote in the caption.
Burlesque dancer and model Dita Von Teese also posted a tribute to the designer, thanking him for making "the most exquisite dresses that showcased a woman’s beauty, rather than distracting from it." She added that he will never be forgotten, according to ET.
Leroux was born in a northern part of France in 1957. He began working in the fashion industry with figures who are now famous, including Fendi and Chanel. He rose to fame in Paris after opening his own store in 1984.
“Over the course of his successful career, he designed custom outfits for major celebrities such as Taylor Swift, Jessica Chastain, Dita Von Teese and Cate Blanchett. Von Teese even took to Instagram to pay her respect to the late designer,” reported ET.
