One of the biggest names in the news industry has just announced he is returning to the newsdesk. Don Lemon, the anchor from CNN, is returning after his leave of absence during the passing of his sister.
According to reports, Lemon's sister passed away from an accidental drowning incident. It was a heartfelt and tearful return for the anchor. Please join us in praying for all of the Lemon family as they endure this tragedy. We ask for God's healing grace to touch their lives.
“I am back here sitting with you tonight, because this is where she would have wanted me to be,” Lemon, 51, started off his broadcast. “Leisa was so proud of me.”
“I want all of you to know that your prayers and words of encouragement have really meant the world to me and my family over the last few days. So many of you have reached out to me, I can’t respond to all of them. So, I just want to respond now… I think it’s important for all Americans to know that when something like this happens, it tends to bring out the best in people.”
Lemon thanked all of his staff and support crew for being there for him during this tragedy. He also thanked notable public figures who had reached out to offer their condolences.
Lemon's sister, Lisa, died after she fell into a son in Louisiana. She had previously been fishing before the accident occurred. She was only 58 years old.
