On Friday morning, award-winning rapper Fetty Wap was arrested. Fetty Wap, whose real name is Willie Maxwell, was initially pulled over in Brooklyn, NY for speeding.
Fetty Wap was reportedly driving his Mercedes over 100 miles per hour on the Gowanus Parkway near Sunset Park. The speed limit in the area was only 50 miles per hour. Additionally, the rapper was reportedly challenging other drivers near him.
The 26-year-old was pulled over at around 1 a.m. on Friday morning. When police got to the rapper's vehicle, they discovered that he was intoxicated. He also handed the officers an expired driver's license.
After failing a sobriety test, police discovered that Fetty Wap had a .09 blood alcohol content, which is over the legal limit. The chart-topping rapper was then issued a DUI, along with other charges.
Overall, the rapper ended up receiving 15 charges, including a DUI, drag racing, reckless endangerment, speeding, operating a vehicle without a valid license, unsafe lane changing, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and following too close.
The rapper was taken to jail. According to reports, he is expected to receive bail soon. No other information has been given about further punishment.
