A famous American magician who has broken and set a number of world records, David Blaine, has been accused of rape. Former model Natasha Prince claimed that Blaine raped her more than a decade ago in 2004.
The Daily Beast first reported the news in an exclusive, confirming that Blaine is in the process of being interviewed by authorities regarding this recent accusation. The news source obtained the information from e-mails.
An official statement was released to the Daily Beast, “Officers from the Met’s Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command are investigating an allegation of rape. The allegation was reported to police on 17 November 2016 by a woman who alleged she was raped at an address in Chelsea in June or July 2004 when she was aged 21. There have been no arrests at this stage and enquiries continue.”
Blaine reportedly denied all allegations. His attorney told the public, “My client vehemently denies that he raped or sexually assaulted any woman, ever, and he specifically denies raping a woman in 2004. If, in fact, there is any police investigation, my client will fully cooperate because he has nothing to hide.”
However, Prince’s story is much different—very disturbing.
Prince claims that after meeting Blaine in his years of prime time fame, while she was a rising fashion model, he invited her over to his home. Blaine offered her an alcoholic beverage, invited her up to a private bedroom, and she doesn’t remember much more after that. It is unclear if the model was implying the drink was drugged or if she was simply not sober enough to comprehend her surroundings.
Like many other victims in similar situations, Prince convinced herself this was not rape and felt it was “her fault.” 13 years later, she finally shared her story and went to the police.
