Wow, he just went there. In a culture that basically tries to criminalize anyone who speaks negatively of homosexuality, Franklin Graham just showed he is not afraid.
Responding to a newly proposed bill by the Democrats banning "conversion therapy," Graham basically hits every politically-incorrect talking point by stating that: 1) Homosexuality is not God's plan; 2) Furthermore, no one is born perfectly pleasing to God; and 3) There is a real "cure" for homosexuality and every other sin: Jesus Christ.
“The bill is very simple,” said Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.), who introduced the bill on Tuesday.
“It says it is fraud if you treat someone for a condition that doesn’t exist and there’s no medical condition known as being gay. LGBTQ people were born perfect; there is nothing to treat them for. And by calling this what it should be, which is fraud, it would effectively shut down most of the organizations.”
Graham seems to not be condoning traditional conversion therapy in his post, but rather decrying the ideology that "gay is perfect." Instead, Graham says there is a far more powerful conversion therapy, and it's available to everyone: new life in Jesus.
