19 Kids and Counting star, Josh Duggar, has had a brutal year. His troubles were self-inflicted and he brought the scandals upon himself.
Unfortunately for the rest of the Christian family, his actions were so horrific that they brought the entire show to a halt. The other 18 Duggar children and their parents were punished by the media and ridiculed for their relation to Josh.
What Josh did to Anna, his four children, his sisters, and his entire family is both heartbreaking and as close to unforgivable as one can get.
If there is one thing we learned about the family from their show is that they are a family of deep faith. One of the main pillars of Christianity is the act of forgiveness. Some of the family members are trying to process the full scope of Josh’s actions and ultimately forgive him.
According to ETonline, several members of the family have been writing cards encouraging Josh in his rehabilitation as well as sending him prayers and forgiveness.
However, not all members of the family are ready to forgive Josh. He still has a very long recovery ahead and it could take years to begin to repair the deep wounds.
At the time Josh checked into rehab, his family had issued a statement, “Josh checked himself into a long-term treatment center. It will be a long journey towards wholeness and recovery. We pray that in this he comes to complete repentance and sincere change. In the meantime, we will be offering our love, care and devoted support to Anna and our grandchildren as she also receives counsel and help for her own heart and future.”
Please continue to pray for the entire Duggar family. The actions of one do not represent the entirety of the family.
