Dove, one of the best-known soap and toiletries companies in the world, has just declared war on conservatives in their new commercial.
The commercial, which appears to feature only Millennials and their kids, begins by expressing a distaste for older generations giving any parenting advice to their kids and grandkids.
The phrase “Moms are redefining what it means to be a ‘good mom’” pops up after about eight seconds.
Dropping in more buzzwords like “unconventional” and “unique” as it shows the lives of young moms, the commercial abruptly features a man dressed as a woman — sitting next to an actual woman — who proudly proclaims, “We are both his biological parents. You get people that are like, ‘What do you mean, you’re the mom?’ We’re like, yep, we’re both going to be moms.
The commercial then goes on to tell women that they can live active lifestyles and be a mom at the same time, implying that the older generation, by in large, considers that taboo.
“There’s no one right way to do it all,” the cross-dressing dad says as he reappears.
“You are the only expert in your kid,” a mom says.
“Believe in yourself. Believe in your ability as a woman,” another mom says, not specifying how a woman’s automatic ability to be an expert mom is magically transferred to any man who thinks he’s a mom.
“Do what fits your family. And trust yourself,” a mom concludes.
