D.C. Shooting Takes Place on Special Occassion

A tragic shooting took place in Washington D.C. on Wednesday, June 14th. The shooting occurred at the GOP’s practice for the upcoming charity, Congressional Baseball Game. The shooter, who was killed by police officers following the incident, has been identified as ‘Anti-Trump’ and intentionally fired on republicans. Democrats even showed support by immediately coming together and praying for the victims at the practice session.

June 14th, 2017 also marks our president’s 71st birthday. Many of his family shared birthday wishes for Trump via social media, including his children and our First Lady, Melania Trump. However, others used Trump's special day as an opportunity to criticize him.

Donald Trump spent the first part of his birthday praying for the victims and speaking to the public regarding his thoughts on the tragic, incident. Trump stated, “Many lives would have been lost if not for the heroic actions of the two capitol police officers who took down the gunman despite sustaining gunshot wounds during a very, very brutal assault. Melania and I are grateful for their heroism and praying for the swift recovery of all victims.” He also expressed his warm thoughts for the injured representative on Twitter.

Since the shooter has reportedly been identified as ‘Anti-Trump’ and fired intentionally at republicans, was the shooting taking place on President Trump’s birthday intentional? Fortunately, Trump reportedly had a wonderful birthday dinner celebration at the White House with family.
