Yesterday, Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins took the time to celebrate five years of marriage. The couple, who are arguably country music’s most lovable, posted a series of photos on Instagram.
In his post, Rhett, 27, celebrated his gorgeous wife. He also mentioned how much has changed in the last five years, which undoubtedly includes their two children.
“5 years of marriage with this beautiful woman. A lot has changed since our last anniversary. We have cried a little but have laughed and loved harder than we ever have. Love you baby! Here's to so many more. You + me,” wrote Rhett.
The photo shows the couple smiling with their two children. Their baby, Ada James, is 9 weeks on Saturday. Their little girl, Willa Gray, is 23 months.
Lauren, also 27, took time out of her busy day to commemorate her husband. She posted a photo of the couple on their wedding day.
“5 years ago tonight babe. if this is 5 years, can’t wait to see what forever looks like,” she wrote. “I love you so much”
Akins followed that post up with a picture of her and Ada James to celebrate 2 months for her baby. She wrote, “Also, happy 2 months to this precious little [pumpkin emoji].”
A lot has certainly changed for the couple since their 2012 marriage. Rhett’s career has taken off, and Lauren has gained her own social media following. They also adopted and had a baby in the same year.
Rhett commemorated those momentous occasions in the title song of his latest album, “Life Changes.” In the chorus, he sings,
“Ain't it funny how life changes. You wake up ain't nothing the same and life changes… Life changes (yes it does) and I wouldn't change it for the world, the world, oh no.”
In an interview with People Magazine, the couple opened up about the struggles and joys of having two kids under two. They said they have their hands full, but they wouldn’t have it any other way.
“The moment we look at our calendars, it really does stress us out,” said the musician of balancing family time with the promo schedule for his new album Life Changes. “But if Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean can do it, we can do it!”
Congratulations to the couple. Hopefully, they will be one of the Hollywood couples that makes it.
