After a lengthy investigation, The House Armed Services Committee has come to the conclusion that Barack Obama both misled the public and broke multiple laws when he handed over 5 terrorist leaders to the Taliban in exchange for Army deserter, Bowe Bergdahl.
“Leading up to the transfer, Department of Defense officials misled Congress as to the status of negotiations,” Committee Chairman Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-TX) said, “Pentagon officials best positioned to assess the national security risks were left out of the process, which increases the chances of dangerous consequences from the transfer.”
Clarifying Obama’s crimes further, Thornberry said, “Our report finds that the Administration clearly broke the law in not notifying Congress of the transfer.”
According to Breitbart, Congress was alerted to the deal less than two hours before the terrorists left Guantanamo Bay. Thornberry also pointed out that all five terrorists have since resumed terrorist activities since being given traded for the deserter. “It is irresponsible to put these terrorists that much closer to the battlefield to settle a campaign promise and unconscionable to mislead Congress in the process,” Thornberry said.
