On Wednesday, a jury convicted Fairooz on charges of disorderly conduct and parading and demonstrating on Capitol grounds. The two men, Lenny Bianchi and Tighe Barry, faced the latter charge.

According to District of Columbia code 10-503.16, disrupting hearings in any way is forbidden. Code 10-503.17 also disallows any kind of protest on Capitol Grounds.

Liberal news outlets have ridiculed Fairooz’ arrest, implying that it’s ridiculous for someone to get in trouble over a laugh, but the Code Pink protesters’ multiple violations are clear.

Fairooz, Bianchi, and Barry could face up to a year in jail.
