On Thursday, CNN writer Chris Cillizza re-tweeted a video of Polish First Lady, Agata Kornhauser-Duda, apparently rejecting Trump’s offered hand.
The post got 14,000 likes, and a writer for the Daily Mirror even tweeted that the First Lady had become a “cult hero.”
Refusing to shake his hand would have been quite the rebellious act and certainly news worthy—if she had actually done it. Once again, CNN failed to check their sources. When you watch the full video, rather than the edited version posted, you see that she was just already on her way to shaking Melania’s hand, and she quickly shook Trump’s too.
Later on Thursday, the Polish president tweeted a comment on the report. "Contrary to some surprising reports my wife did shake hands with Mrs. and Mr. Trump @POTUS after a great visit. Let's FIGHT FAKE NEWS."
Writers at CNN are so intent on making President Trump look bad that they don't even stop to evaluate whether what they're sharing is actually true. CNN really needs to have a sit-down with their staff about journalistic ethics. It’s getting embarrassing.
