Season 3 of "The Voice" premiered on Monday night. While many of the performances were top notch, there was one in particular that stood out above the rest.
Brooke Simpson is a 26-year-old from North Carolina. The Native American has been known by friends and family throughout her life by her amazing voice and her steadfast faith.
Simpson grew up leading worship with her parents at various churches. Being used to a life of full-time ministry, Simpson and her husband decided to start their own youth ministry in 2004 called "Youth in Revolt."
Simpson said, "God just gave me a fire and a passion to see the young rebel against the world. So that's how I started it...It is a revolution that is long overdue to take place. It is a platform that my husband and I are building to stop the domino effect of all the people in our generation turning away from the Church and turning away from God."
The singer works for the ministry and for a start-up church and is now hoping to use her talent on a bigger platform where she can be open about her faith. In her blind audition on "The Voice" premiere, Simpson sang a rendition of Demi Lovato's "Stone Cold."
After her performance, all four judges were raving about the singer. Jennifer Hudson said that she thought she knew singing until she heard her amazing performance.
Miley Cyrus said, "You know you're good because I'm a little speechless and that never happens."
Blake Shelton said, "Every now and then, there's a singer that comes across this stage that simply needs an opportunity, and that's where you're at with your talent and your artistry."
Below is Simpson's audition:
After all four judges were fighting for her to choose them as their coach, Simpson ended up partnering with Miley Cyrus.
