Chelsea Clinton just made a big announcement. But you actually might like it.
According to Variety, the daughter of Bill and Hillary confirmed during an interview that, despite numerous rumors, she is not running for public office.
“I really am constantly surprised by the stories of me running for, fill in the blank — Congress, Senate, City Council, the presidency,” she said.
“I really find this all rather hysterical, because I’ve been asked this question a lot throughout my life, and the answer has never changed,” she added.
It’s good news for conservatives who have found her liberal viewpoints and personality little more likable in the political arena than that of her parents. She especially rankled President Trump supporters after she mocked Kellyanne Conway, igniting a Twitter battle with Trump’s top adviser.
Some conservatives, though, may like to see Chelsea run if it means seeing her defeated.
But Chelsea definitely left the door open, saying that when it comes to the leadership in New York, “If someone steps down or something changes, I’ll then ask and answer those questions at that time. But right now, no, I’m not running for public office.”
