Carson: Trump Makes Stunning Admission About Judge Comments

Trump received a lot of backlash from both sides of the aisle after comments he made about the judge presiding over a lawsuit against Trump University. He strongly suggested that the judge in the case is biased against him because the U.S.-born judge is of Mexican heritage. Trump pointed to his proposed expansion of the U.S.-Mexico border wall as a strong area of contention between the two countries. Trump also pointed out the Judge Gonzalo Curiel's connection to the Latino-run National Council of La Raza as evidence.

But according to Trump surrogate Ben Carson, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee is reversing his remarks.

In an interview with Politico, Carson explained that Trump "fully recognizes that that was not the right thing to say."

He said Trump also admits overemphasizing Curiel's connection to La Raza.

In a separate interview Carson had with CNN, Newsmax is reporting that he said Trump "is probably going to stop" attacking the judge because "he's come to the conclusion himself that self-inflicted wounds just impede your progress."

Trump, however, has not publicly walked back his remarks.
