Last week, the Republican presidential race got even uglier. Amidst candidates' wives being criticized for their looks, Ted Cruz's marital fidelity was the source of slander. Tabloid reports came out claiming Cruz had several affairs.
Here on The View, the co-hosts discuss the rumors.
Michelle Collins said it would be "satisfying" to her if the rumors were true. She said she wants him to look like a hypocrite for his "crazy moral code." This really bothered Candace Cameron Bure, an outspoken Christian, for two reasons.
First, she said that what Collins refers to as a "crazy moral code" are really just Christian values. Second, she was upset that Collins would rejoice in Cruz's marital infidelity. “Girlfriend, I love you but I am so disagreeing with you on this. I can’t find the humor in that. I can’t … I don’t find satisfaction in seeing anyone be ruined. I really don’t. I want to believe the best in people. I want to hope the best in people. We know that not all people are good and we don’t make good decisions all of the time, but I always want to hope and root for people.”
We love that Bure stood up for Christian values and that she wants the best for people! Do you agree? How do you feel about this exchange on The View?
