His spokesman John Wittman expressed, "California may be able to stop their state employees, but they can't stop all the businesses that are fleeing over taxation and regulation and relocating to Texas."

Kentucky's Republican governor Matt Bevin also responded, according to WKYT, saying, "It is fascinating that the very same West Coast liberals who rail against the President’s executive order, that protects our nation from foreign terrorists, have now contrived their own travel ban aimed at punishing states who don’t fall in lockstep with their far-left political ideology."

Interestingly enough, California's travel ban for Alabama is already causing a problem for one public California university. Fresno State is scheduled to send its football team to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to compete against the University of Alabama. Whoops. A travel ban exemption request has been filed.

It is disturbing to see such division among states that are a part of the same union. One state–no matter how large it is—should not be enacting travel bans against another state. We are all a part of the same nation, and it’s time California realized that.
