Breaking: White House on Lockdown, Police Responding

The White House has been placed on lockdown following some suspicious activity in the area. At this time, officials and first responders are on the scene to secure the area.

The security in Washington D.C. has been heightened after numerous threats against President Trump have been reported. He is arguably one of the most highly guarded individuals in the world.

New reports are now saying one person has been taken into custody. Reporters and other non-essential personnel were asked to leave the area.

“The White House was placed on lockdown and one suspect was arrested after reports of ‘suspicious activity’ in the area,” the US Secret Service said.

The north fence line of the White House was closed due to suspicious activity on Friday morning. The Uniformed Division of the Secret Service responded to the scene and a suspect was arrested minutes later, according to the Secret Service Twitter account.

The incident happened as President Trump left D.C. for his 12-day tour around Asia. According to reports, President Trump boarded Air Force One just moments before the lockdown occurred.
