BREAKING: Officials Say Passenger Jet Crash Likely Terrorism

Egyptian officials are saying terrorism is the likely cause of an EgyptAir passenger jet spiraling out of control and plunging into the Mediterranean Sea on a flight from Paris to Cairo.

According to ABC News, 66 passengers were aboard the Airbus A320 when it turned around abruptly, rapidly lost altitude, and crashed.

While French President François Hollande didn't want to speculate on the cause of the crash, Egypt's air minister said, “If you analyze the situation properly, the possibility … of having a terror attack is higher than having a technical [failure]."

While it appears no Americans were aboard, the passengers came from at least 12 different countries in Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Britain, and Canada. There has been no word yet on possible survivors.

Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump responded on Twitter, writing, "Looks like yet another terrorist attack. Airplane departed from Paris. When will we get tough, smart and vigilant? Great hate and sickness!"
