After more than five weeks, the Oregon refuge standoff has peacefully come to a end.
27-year-old David Fry was one of four occupiers who has still been occupying the Malheur Wildlife Refuge. Upon Franklin Graham's arrival to the compound, three of the occupiers peacefully surrendered.
David, however, refused to give up until his grievances were heard. Numerous times in a live stream audio feed, he is heard saying he is willing to die before the FBI can arrest him. He claimed to have a gun pointed at his own head.
Constitutional educator KrisAnne Hall, conservative internet broadcaster Gavin Seim, and an FBI agent negotiated with David for over an hour in a very tense exchange. At one point, Franklin Graham spoke to David as well.
Just before 11 a.m. PST, David peacefully gave himself up to authorities.
