On Friday, Ben Carson announced what he will be doing next. This Wednesday, he had announced that he was putting his Presidential campaign on pause. While many people still supported him, he had not won in any of the first 15 states so he said he could not see a path forward.
Two days later, he announced his next move. According to CNN, Carson will serve as chairman of a group called My Faith Votes which aims to get Christians to the polls in November.
Studies have shown that Christians do not vote in any higher percentage than the general population. This means that, in a typical Presidential year, only 2/3 of people register and about 2/3 of those who are registered actually vote.
Dr. Carson said, "Nothing is more important to me than my personal faith, and it is my faith that motivated me to be involved in the political process to begin with. I believe Christians in this country can easily determine the next president of the United States and all other national and local leaders, should they simply show up at the polls."
