North Carolina has been in a legal battle with the federal government over the state's new bill clarifying that people must use the public bathrooms that match their biological sex regardless of "gender identity." Now another state wants to sue the Obama administration as well.
According to the Austin American-Statesman, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has just confirmed that the state's attorney general will file suit against the Obama administration after its directive that all public schools in America open girls' bathrooms, locker rooms, and sports teams to males who self-identify as female.
“Texas will sue to stop Obama’s transgender directive to schools," he wrote simply on Twitter.
During a book tour today he also said that the president is "trampling the United States Constitution."
The governors of 17 states have also condemned the Obama administration for what they called an extreme federal overreach.
