A resounding victory for Donald Trump in the Indiana primary on Tuesday, led to Ted Cruz suspending his campaign when it was clear that he no longer had a path forward to the nomination.
Despite only getting 7% of the Republican vote in the state, candidate John Kasich vowed to continue to fight on for a two miracles, the first one being that he could somehow steal enough delegates away from Trump to send the nomination process to the convention and the second being that at the convention all of the delegates would rally around him.
It now appears that Kasich has come to terms with the reality of the situation. According to NBC, Kasich’s senior advisor has said that Kasich will suspend his campaign for the presidency this afternoon.
Kasich canceled his upcoming campaign stops and will make a statement in his home state of Ohio.
It’s official. Trump is the last man standing.
