“Obama and his administration have caused division in our nation and have fostered a lawless society,” Reverend William Owens, the president of the Coalition of African American Pastors said in response to the recent cop slayings in Baton Rouge.
The racist and anti-police rhetoric from Black Lives Matter and Democratic party officials has led to open violence against police officers around the country. On Sunday, three police officers were ambushed and murdered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and an additional three suffered injuries. A week prior, 5 police officers were slain in Dallas, Texas.
Instead of condemning the terroristic actions of Black Lives Matter supporters, Obama has condemned the police officers by inferring that police officers are inherently racist and that we as Americans need to do a better job of understanding where the protestors are coming from.
Reverend Owens believes that understanding the volatile situation in the country starts with acknowledging the one who is responsible for allowing it to fester. “The divide that we are witnessing didn’t just start,” Owens said. “We have a president who has divided us as a nation with his political rhetoric. In America, gays are divided against straight people, rich against poor, women against men, blacks against whites, black lives matter against police – which our president promotes.”
Do you agree with Reverend Owens?
