Shirley Dobson is stepping down from her role as chairwoman of the National Day of Prayer taskforce, a position she has held for a quarter century. In picking a replacement, she has called upon one of the most influential families in America.
Dobson has tapped Anne Graham Lotz, the daughter of legendary evangelist Billy Graham, to lead the national prayer movement. According to the Christian Post, Dobson settled on Lotz after a lot of prayer and consideration.
Lotz accepted the incredible honor. “I believe I’m called by God to those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,” Lotz said quoting 1 Corinthians 1:1-2. “I will continue to lead AnGel Ministries as I accept this new assignment to not only get people into God’s word, but also onto their knees in serious prayer for our nation.”
Congratulations Anne! May the Lord continue to bless you as you enter into this new position and continue to spread God’s word.
