Beloved Actor Passes Away With Family By His Side

The beloved and iconic voice actor, Peter Sallis, has died. He was 96 years old.

According to his agents, he died peacefully surrounded by his family. Jonathan Altaras Associates released a statement saying: 'It is with sadness that we announce that our client Peter Sallis died peacefully, with his family by his side, at Denville Hall on Friday, June 2.'

Sallis was most famous for his role as the loveable inventor named Wallace, in the animated films "Wallace and Gromit". Children across the globe have loved this amazing animated series.

It was in 1983 that Sallis was asked to be the voice of the character called Wallace. Sallis originally agreed to do it in exchange for a small donation to his favorite charity. He never imagined the show would be a major success and ultimately be nominated for an Oscar.

The follow-up films to the original movie were The Wrong Trousers (1993) and A Close Shave (1995). They both won Oscars and each of the films won a Bafta.
