Award-Winning Music Artist Dies at 52, Possible Suicide

Chris Cornell, award-winning music artist, passed away at age 52 on Wednesday evening.

Cornell was best known as the lead singer of ‘Soundgarden’.

In the 1990’s, the band won two Grammy Awards for Best Metal Performance and Best Hard Rock Performance. Among those awards, they have won a few others and have also been nominated for over a dozen more.

According to TMZ, an investigation is currently ongoing to determine if his death was a suicide.

After Cornell’s wife could not reach him via phone Thursday morning, police discovered the singer dead in his hotel room and are calling this an ‘apparent suicide’. His wife did not believe him to be depressed or in a suicidal state.

Cornell leaves behind his wife, Vicky Karayiannis, and his three children.
