Shortly after the tragic suicide bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, the singer announced that she is going to hold a benefit concert at Emirates Old Trafford to support the victims involved in the attack. The attack killed 22 people and injured over 100, many of which were teenagers and children.
Grande was at-first ‘broken’ and ‘at a loss for words’, but later made a very bold statement:
“I said that this show, more than anything else, was intended to be a safe space for my fans. A place for them to escape, to celebrate, to heal, to feel safe, and to be themselves. This will not change that. When you look into the audience at my shows, you see a beautiful, diverse, pure, happy crowd. Thousands of people, incredibly different, all there for the same reason, music. Music is something that everyone on Earth can share. Music is meant to heal us, to bring us together, to make us happy. So that is what it will continue to do for us."
Fans applauded her heart-filled gesture and other celebrities are supporting her, as well. On Tuesday, it was announced that the concert, “One Love”, will be taking place on Sunday, June 4th. She will also be accompanied by a few special guests:
1. Justin Bieber
2. Katy Perry
4. Miley Cyrus
5. Pharrell Williams
6. Niall Horan from One Direction
7. Take That
Many of these celebrities headlining with Ariana Grande expressed their prayers and condolences after the attack took place, so it’s no surprise they wanted to contribute and support the families affected.
What do you think about Ariana Grande’s efforts to support the victims?
Please continue to pray for everyone involved.
