Are More Americans Supporting Traditional Marriage?

A recent poll by the Pew Research Center shows a 5% dip in same-sex marriage supporters from a similar poll in February. Its newest findings put only 49% of Americans in favor of same-sex marriage, down from the previous 54%, according to the website

This one study is too inconclusive to prove a distinct trend in favor of traditional marriage; however, the continuing near-equal split shows how divided America is on this very important issue of marriage.

Related to the issue of defining marriage is the right of business owners to withhold (wedding-related) services because of their religious convictions. Several cases have arisen out of such incidents, and currently the same Pew survey reported that 47% of Americans believe those business owners should be allowed to refuse service for their convictions.

What do you think about the issue of marriage in America and all of its many implications--such as business owners' rights?
