Are More Americans Supporting Traditional Marriage?

A recent poll by the Pew Research Center shows a 5% dip in same-sex marriage supporters from a similar poll in February. Its newest findings put only 49% of Americans in favor of same-sex marriage, down from the previous 54%, according to the website

This one study is too inconclusive to prove a distinct trend in favor of traditional marriage; however, the continuing near-equal split shows how divided America is on this very important issue of marriage.

Related to the issue of defining marriage is the right of business owners to withhold (wedding-related) services because of their religious convictions. Several cases have arisen out of such incidents, and currently the same Pew survey reported that 47% of Americans believe those business owners should be allowed to refuse service for their convictions.
