Over the last few years, Angelina Jolie has had her fair share of health scares, family feuds, and career changes. Fans have been unsure of what the future holds for the Hollywood actress. Luckily, Jolie just made an announcement about her next step, and fans are happy about it.
Jolie, who has been increasingly known for her behind the camera work, is now returning to the big screen. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actress said that she is ready to return to acting after taking time off to deal with family issues.
She said, “Right now I don’t have anything to direct that I feel passionate about like this ['First They Killed My Father'], so I’ll do some acting. I’ve taken over a year off now, because of my family situation, to take care of my kids.”
After Jolie’s split with Brad Pitt, the mother of six has been focusing on family. Now, she says that the time is right to begin acting again. Jolie has not yet committed to a new project. However, a “Maleficent” sequel is in the works and likely to take place this year. The actress also said that there is a script to “Cleopatra” that could be an option for her.
While she eventually wants to give up acting for directing, that time has not yet come. She said that while she would love to make that transition, it is riskier to try to have a career as a director.
