Jennifer Lawrence, best known for her lead role in the “Hunger Games” series, is determined to use her influence to enact social change. The Oscar-winning actress is known by young people across the nation who praise her for her relatable attitude and down-to-earth personality.

Over time, it seems that Lawrence's opinion of President Trump has shifted. During the presidential elections in 2016, Lawrence was vocal about her political opinion. In a letter posted on November 10, she expressed her concerns and negative feelings toward President Trump.

In the letter, Lawrence urged readers to hold onto hope for the future, even though the outcome of the election was not what she wanted it to be. Although in 2015 the actress said that a Trump presidency would be the “end of the world,” her letter in 2016 at least encouraged a small amount of positivity. She talked about daily actions that could be taken to see a brighter America.

Now, Jennifer Lawrence is speaking up again. This time, her persuasion to remain hopeful has turned into a persuasion to become unified as a country.

In her recent interview with Vogue, Lawrence said that the polarizing views cannot “continue this divide and anger.” She said that there “needs to be a bridge,” and advocated for unity.

She said, “There are issues affecting us as human beings, not as liberals and not as Republicans. We have to protect the foundation of this country, and acceptance.”

Instead of pushing a specific political agenda, the actress spent her interview pushing a specific attitude of acceptance.

While Jennifer Lawrence is still opposed to the Trump administration, she is correct that there needs to be a bridge. For someone who used to be very adamant about their hatred toward Trump, this is a positive step. Lawrence's opinions are vastly different than many other liberals, many of whom are still focused on bashing the president and spreading negativity. While other liberals want the country to remain polarized, Lawrence's temperaments have shifted.

What do you think about this? How do you think other liberals will react to her weakened stance? Do you think that Lawrence makes a good point? While some celebrities have been extremely vocal about their wariness toward President Trump, others are making bold statements to show their support of him.
