Americans to Obama on ISIS: We Want Stronger Leadership

The polls show that America is willing to get into the fight against ISIS, while at the same time desperately crying out for leadership that will guide her to victory.

Chart_BODY.jpgThe new national survey by the Pew Research Center, as reported in this article, "finds that 57% approve of the U.S. military campaign against Islamic militants in Iraq and Syria, while just 33% disapprove."

However, only a third of Americans think the campaign is going well. The main reason cited for their doubt is the lack of a clearly stated objective from President Obama.

While in support of fighting the extreme terrorists in Iraq and Syria, Americans are asking: What are we wanting to accomplish? And how far are we willing to go?

Feelings on the latter are divided, with Republicans worrying that the U.S. will not go far enough in the fight, and Democrats worrying that we will go too far. More women than men are opposed to sending ground troops to fight ISIS, and similarly, more Democrats than Republicans.

The question is, then: What do we want done about the terror in the Middle East, and what are we going to do about it? The confusion and division in the recent poll shows that Americans clearly want a stop to the threat of ISIS.

Do you agree? How do you feel about U.S. military involvement in Syria and Iraq?
