The American Family Association launched a massive boycott of all Target stores across the country earlier this year after the retail store put women and children at risk by unveiling their transgender bathroom policy. The policy allows for men and women to enter and use whichever bathroom they want based on how they self identify.
The boycott amassed the signatures of over 1.4 million people and Target’s stock has taken a noticeable hit. Instances of men spying on women and taking pictures of them in Target bathrooms and changing rooms have popped up across the country. In spite of that, Target has still refused to budge on their dangerous policy.
“Target’s policy is exactly how sexual predators get access to their victims,” AFA President Tim Wildmon said in a statement. “And headlines this summer have proven this is the case. Target’s lack of action on this issue has proven that it’s main concern is not the safety of customers, but rather, political correctness.”
Because Target is refusing to acknowledge their customer base, AFA is urging families to not do their back-to-school shopping there and make sure that Target feels the effect of their policy where it counts, in their bank account. According to the Christian Post, AFA wants to send a strong message to Target.
“AFA is encouraging shoppers to research their back-to-school shopping stores by visiting the Screen It Clean It website, which provides information on publicly traded companies regarding their positions on family issues.”
