Billy Bush and his wife, Sydney Davis, have announced their separation. Bush is the nephew of former President George W. Bush and the first cousin of former President George H.W. Bush.
Bush’s rep confirmed to TMZ that the couple, who have been married for 20 years, have separated. The rep told TMZ that the member of the Bush family, who used to co-host the “Today” show, and his wife are "separated for the moment to evaluate their life together."
The rep went on to say, "They love each other and their children deeply and are committed to a bright future."
The couple has three children together. Josie, 19, Mary, 17, and Lillie Bush, 13.
Bush’s lawyer, Marshall Grossman, confirmed the split to Page Six, adding that they are "on a short-term break.”
His lawyer also denied that infidelity was the cause of the split. However, Bush was a part of the controversial “locker room talk” video that appeared during President Trump’s campaign. That video cost Bush his job on the “Today” show.
A source close to the family told Page Six that there’s no specific reason behind their break.
“They have been together for 20 years. Like all marriages, [there are] ups and downs, and it takes work. There is no specific reason … just having been together for a long time and trying to work through a marriage … nothing more, nothing less.”
Pray for the family—especially the children—as they deal with their parents’ divorce. A split is always sad—no matter the circumstances.
