Casey Affleck, award-winning actor and brother of Ben Affleck, tried to casually walk through TSA with a baseball bat. On Thursday, paparazzi caught up with the actor as he confidently walked towards security touting the bat. They asked him if he thought he was going to get through security with it.
"Are you going to take a bat on the plane," asked the paparazzo.
"We're gonna find out," said Affleck.
The photographer then jokingly told him that he could provide security for the whole plane if he was able to walk on with a bat.
"I hope so," replied the actor.
Predictably, TSA didn't seem to find the situation as funny as the paparazzi did. Just like any person going through security, Affleck appears to try to avoid making eye contact with the TSA officers. He probably hoped they wouldn't notice his bat if he acted casual enough.
The incredulity on the officer's face when Affleck asked to take his bat onto the plane says it all. He tried to argue one more time, but based on his frustrated reaction, TSA definitely declined to give him a free pass just because he's famous.
Predictably, Affleck walked away without his bat, which he chose to hand over to officers rather than checking it. Maybe next time, he'll leave it at home or check it into baggage ahead of time.
Have you ever tried to go through security with something you shouldn't and ended up losing it to TSA? Country singer Scotty McCreery had a run in with TSA when he tried to take a weapon on board.
