More than three decades after the release of the blockbuster hit Top Gun, fans can get excited about a brand-new sequel already in the works.
Tom Cruise confirmed the news just a couple of weeks ago.
"Friends said it's official - #TOPGUN2 was announced today," he wrote on Instagram. "I'm ready Tom- still got my top gun plaque! Still got the moves! Still got it!"
"We're going to have the same tone as we had in the first movie. Stylistically, it's going to be the same. We're going to have the same score," Tom shared with Access Hollywood in a new interview. "We're going to have big fast machines. It's going to be a competition film like the first one."
He added, "There's going to be aircraft carries. There's going to be jets."
Many probably expect the movie to be called Top Gun 2, but the actor revealed that the tentative title is Top Gun: Maverick.
"I didn't want a number," Tom explained. "You don't need a number."
More details will be coming out soon on this Sequel.
